Obituary for Sandra Parker

Sandra Wyche Parker was born on January 11, 1941 in Barnwell, South Carolina to the late Carietha Faust. She was reared in Jacksonville, Florida and received her education in the Duval County Public Schools, graduating in 1958, from Matthew W. Gilbert High School. Sandy enlisted and served four years in the United States Army. She continued her career with CSX Railroad for nearly 30 years of service, until her health began to decline.

Sandy later met and married LeRon Parker. Sandy loved being a member of St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of District 16 and her leader was Deacon Joseph Evans; she also attended midday bible study, until she was no longer able to go. She also looked forward to her weekly visits from her pastor.

Sandy leaves to cherish her memories a devoted goddaughter, Victoria (Donnie) Pickford, Sr.; grand-godson, Donnie Pickford, Jr.; two sisters, Ethel Faust (Barnwell, South Carolina) and Evelyn (Clinton) Williams (Charlotte, North Carolina); brother, Marion Faust (Blackville, South Carolina); aunt, Elizabeth (Gerald) Washington (Gardena, California); nieces, Renee Faust and Debra Faust (Blackville, South Carolina); devoted cousins, Frances Mote and David (Emma) Young (all of Jacksonville, Florida); and a host of other nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral service for Sandra Parker will be held 11AM, Saturday, September 10th, 2016 at the St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church 5863 Moncrief Rd. The visitation will be 5 - 7PM , Friday, September 9th, 2016 at the mortuary. Interment in Jacksonville National Cemetery. Please sign the family guest book @ www.tswarden.com.
