SHARON Y  BROWN
Mrs. Sharon Yvonne (Jiles) Brown was born on August 20, 1954 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born to loving parents, Sam B. Jiles, Sr. and Louise Teacher Jiles of Jacksonville, Florida whom both preceded her in death.

Sharon attended Mt. Ararat Baptist Church where she accepted Christ at an early age. She joined West Union Baptist Church and was a member for many years where she served faithfully. Sharon later became a member of Philippian Community Church; she was known for her beautiful singing voice. She loved to sing. Sharon had a smile for everyone and was known and appreciated as a mother to all of her children’s friends.

Sharon was educated in the Duval County Public Schools, graduating from Stanton High School Class of Jacksonville in 1971. On December 5, 1971, Sharon married her lifetime love, John W. Brown, Jr. Sharon’s work history was extensive and varied. Sharon was employed as a dental hygienist for years. She went on to work as a Teacher’s Aide at Alden Road Center. She worked with the Exceptional Education students at Alden Road. Sharon next attended cosmetology school and went on to work at Total Control Styling Salon. Sharon retired after many years of dedicated service. Sharon departed this life peacefully at home, Saturday, September 3, 2016.

Sharon leaves to cherish her memory: a loving and faithful husband, Elder John W. Brown, Jr.; two sons, John W. Brown, III and Joshua K. Brown; one daughter, LaTasha S. Brown Thompson; mother-in-law, Zemira Jones; brothers, Samuel B. Jiles, Jr. (Frances) and (both are deceased), James A. Jiles, Johnnie L. Jiles, Sr. (Florence); and Lorenzo A. Jiles, Sr. (Terri), all of Jacksonville, Florida; sisters, Mary E. Holliman (Rev. Wallace, Sr.) Frederick, Colorado, Janice L. Jones (Ronald, Sr., deceased), Jacksonville, Florida, and Shirley Henry, Petersburg, Virginia; grandsons, Ary D. Thompson, Isaiah Brown, David Brown, John Samuel Brown, Christopher Brown, and Daori Jones; granddaughters, Nalia Brown, Joshawna Brown, Tecora Brown, Clarissa Brown, Jalisa Brown, Arielle Louise Brown, Johnisha Brown, Johneisa Brown, and Tracia Hodges; brother-in-law, Paul Bills, deceased (Cynthia) and Craig Brown; sister-in-laws, Julia Watkins (James, deceased) and Terri Brown Neal; god-sister, Barbara Brown; very special ladies, Bree Brown, Lashuana Alexander, and Sanlia Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted relatives, and friends.

Sharon Yvonne (Jiles) Brown of Jacksonville, Fl., born August 20, 1954 passed away on Saturday Septemeber 3rd, 2016. She is survived by her husband John W. Brown, Jr; sons, John W. Brown, III, and Joshua K. Brown; daughter, La'Tasha S. Thompson, 15 grandkids, other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held 11:00 am SATURDAY, September 10th, 2016 at the Philippian Community Church 7578 New Kings Rd. The visitation will be , 5-7 PM, Friday at the mortuary.
